In the United States we rely heavily on our vehicles, often driving great distances in adverse weather conditions, and we need our cars and trucks to be safe and reliable.
Many states have enacted Lemon Laws that give manufacturers a reasonable time or number of attempts to repair problems that substantially impair the use, value and safety of a vehicle under warranty.
